Event Details:
In partnership with Orange County Parks, SOCALPAPA is honored to host a non-juried, Member Display Show and Sale, with a Saturday, January 31, 2026 Ribbon Cutting and Awards Presentation Reception from 2:00 to 4:00 pm.
Subject Matter:
We are a dedicated Plein Air group, but many Members do other types of art. This unique SOCALPAPA show is open to pushing those boundaries. We want to see work across all subjects, either studio or plein air, in the following categories:
- Scapes - Land, City, Sea
- Abstract
- Portrait and Figurative (No Nudes)
- Still Life and Floral
- Wildlife
Display: Entries are limited to (2) per person.
Minimum price of artwork needs to be $250.
Artwork to be displayed for the show and sale will be hung on the Courthouse hanging system. No grids needed.
Wire and “D” Rings are required.
Artwork must be framed appropriately. Gallery wrapped canvas requires the sides to be finished and minimum depth of 1 1/2”. Work will be inspected at delivery to make certain that it meets requirements.
Dimensions:
Size Limit of 48” on the longest side. The Artist is responsible for getting work to the 2nd floor gallery. There is an elevator with a door width of about 36” for your use. SOCALPAPA reserves the right to place heavy works on floor easels if deemed too heavy for the Orange County Parks hanging system.
Mediums:
Acceptable mediums include oil, acrylic, watercolor, gouache, mixed media, and pastel. Plein Air or studio work are welcome.
Artwork must be original. Giclees, prints, photography, digital works (including photography that has been digitally manipulated), and artwork produced in workshops will not be accepted. No exceptions.

Awards: Cash Prizes for 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and Honorable Mention in each category.
Sales: All sales are the responsibility of the artists; 100% of all sales go to the artists. All work is to remain in the show until April 10. Artists are responsible for shipping, delivery and sales tax collection for work sold. When buyers will contact SOCALPAPA, the artist will be notified in order to contact the buyer to arrange the sale.

Painting Delivery Monday, January 19, 9:00 to 11:00 am, top floor of the Old Orange County Courthouse. Drop off parking is available on January 19. The courthouse is closed for business this day and a monitored drop off area will be made available. There should also be spaces in the metered lot.
Awards Presentation and Reception - Saturday, January 31, 2:00 to 4:00 pm.
Public Viewing Weekdays 8:00 am to 4:30 pm 2/2/26 to 4/10/26. The show is open to the public for viewing on the second floor gallery of the Old Orange County Courthouse during regular business hours. Closed on weekends and holidays.
Artwork pick-up Saturday, April 11, 9:00 to Noon. (Artwork cannot be removed until the end of the show. Artists are responsible for delivery or shipping art to client.)
Parking: Artist and guest parking is available at paid lots or meters in the area.
***Handicap placards can be used for parking at all meters.
