August Paintouts

Saturday, August 2, 8:00am. Los Rios Street, San Juan Capistrano, by the SJC Train depot.

Take the 5 Fwy S to Hwy 74 Ortega Hwy offramp, go R onto Del Obispo and continue around past the tracks and Los Rios Street and go R on Adelanto 1/2 mile past the River Street Parking to the next parking lot, if that is full, try going further down around the corner on Adelanto to Ramos Street gravel lot parking. Walk E down to Los Rios Street. Paint the Depot or cottages down the street. Restrooms by first parking lot.

Friday, August 8, 9:00am. Huntington Central Park, Huntington Beach.

Take Goldenwest S from the 405 Fwy or the 22 Fwy all the way down past Slater, and go L into the small parking lot by the Park Bench Cafe. If that lot is full, go further down and go L into the Library parking lot. Paint the lake by the Cafe, or paint from other side by the Library. Restrooms by the Cafe, or in the Library.

Saturday, August 16, 8:00am. San Clemente Pier.

Take the 5 Fwy S and take the Ave. Palizada exit right at the end of the offramp, go two blocks and go L on El Camino Real, a few blocks and go R on Del Mar all the way down to the Pier parking lot. Pay in the lot or meters on the street. Restrooms by the end of the Pier.

Demo Paintout

Friday, August 22, 10:30am. Newport Beach Back Bay Muth Center, gouache nocturne demo by Danny Folkman.

It will be painted inside from photographs. This is a good opportunity to get nocturne tips for our Socalpapa nocturne outing sometime in September or October, location of that TBD. Restrooms inside the Muth. You might get there early and paint outside before the demo, or stay after and paint in the afternoon, so bring lunch. Park in the street by the back gate, or the black building lot by the cul de sac, or the Muth lot above by the corner of University and Irvine Ave.

Saturday, August 30, 9;00, Irvine Ranch Historic Park and Library, 13042 Old Myford Road, Irvine CA,

near corner of Irvine Blvd and Jamboree. Restrooms. Paint the grounds, old farm equipment and old migrant housing, or the Library and farm buildings, or Palm tree lined curved Road. Park in the library lot.
