I graduated back when Dinosaurs roamed the earth as an illustration major from Art Center College of Design. I joined an illustration studio with fellow Art Center graduates and after a short 2-3 years we went our separate ways, thrusting me onto the freelance illustration field for a couple of decades.  Recently this field has been taken over by photography and computers, and the economy finished whatever was left of the architectural rendering part of that business as of last year.

I had a dream of pursuing a fine art career, so, at the Start of this decade, I joined Orange Art Association and started taking a watercolor class about the same time as joining Socalpapa. Someone in the class gave me a few sheets of plastic called “Yupo”.  I tried it on a publishing job I was working on at the time, and liked it’s flexibility  for watercolor so much that I used it on a seascape in the class.  I’ve been using Yupo almost exclusively ever since, winning a few awards along the way, and selling a lot of plastic. I am currently in three galleries, the Mission Fine Art Gallery in San Juan Capistrano, the Laguna North Gallery, and wrapping up a successful one-man show in Judy Schroeder’s watercolor gallery in Orange. I give workshops there 2-3 times a year along with teaching at the Learning Product Expo in Pasadena for the past 3 years.
